I think I have done very well this year considering the injuries I have had to deal with and have had to overcome. I am not used to getting injured and did not like sitting out. I really enjoy PE and enjoy being active. I have been dancing and playing field hockey as well,
There has been some classes where I did not give 100% effort and know that I need to give more effort. There were some days where I had been tired due to dancing after school and then field hockey and then dancing again later. I also found that I had to really learn about time management in getting homework done and still doing all my other activities.
I have really enjoyed learning how to play field hockey. It is a very interesting sport with lots of running. I usually play mid field or forward. I have met some awesome girls and made lots of new friends. We have two more weeks of field hockey and I am sad that it is ending already.
I dance at the school as well as for my dance studio, Dance Excel.
I hope to continue dancing with no further injuries to my hip. I am finally starting to feel no pain in the my hip which has taken a long time to heal.
Finally after my hip felt better I was able to participate in PE and then I ended up getting sick. My cold lasted for over a month and I had a lot of trouble running and exerting myself without breaking into a coughing fit. I was so tired as I was not able to get a proper sleep as I was always coughing, I am so glad that I have finally gotten over my cold.
PE is one of my favorite classes as I enjoy being active and having fun with lots of new people. I really enjoyed my year with Mr. Neufeld. He is an awesome teacher with lots of great advice. I feel I have grown as a person and I am looking forward to PE in September.
Tamara your last two posts were great. It does suck you have been banged up a bunch this year. I think the best part of this year was when you were hurt though. Stepping back and watching your friends for a while helped you reflect on your own effort. When I asked you what they had done in a few PE classes you realized you hadn't been giving your best either (injured or not). After that I noticed a clear change in all three of you girls. You stopped accepting the standing and talking as okay. You started to focus on getting something out of class for yourself and not for the teacher. April and My were the best months of the year for all three of you. June we have tumbled back some, so I want you to focus on what you wrote about your own energy in the last post. Your "pre-class" conversations and preparation with each other sets the tone for the day. As a dancer you know how much commitment is required to bring a group together. Focus less on doing stuff and more on what you can do to make sure our class is successful. When you do that, the rest falls into place. Have a nice summer... heal up... and we will see you on the dance floor next year. :)
